Tommie Jean Albert's Cats
Ms. Tommie Jean Albert who lived on Chaparral Street in Pleasanton, Texas passed away on January 9, 2021. She cherished and loved her 10 cats, Archer, Ash, Bristol, Carley, Daytona, Flynn, Grace, Harley, Kit and Mandy (these were names we gave the cats). Unfortunately, a family member opened the door and shooed all these beautiful cats outside. Most of these cats were between the age of 9 and 14 years old. They were trapped by Animal Control Services and brought to the Pleasanton Dog Shelter one by one. We immediately put them in foster homes and gave them the love they deserved. Slowly, each cat got adopted or went to a great no-kill rescue in San Antonio where they got adopted. We feel that we have honored Tommie Jean's name and wishes by caring for her cats!
Rudy's Story
This sweet six-month-old boy, that we named Rudy, was found at an oil-field pad in Nixon, Texas. He was within hours, maybe minutes of death. Both eyes were glued shut and his breathing was shallow. He was a sitting duck to a dog or coyote and he could not look for food because he could not see. He must have laid there for several cold nights when the weather was in the 30’s. He only weighed 2.96 pounds when he was rescued by one of our volunteers. Rudy is now a thriving, sweet, beautiful cat who has found her forever home!
